Who we are
Global Max ("Global Max", "we", "us") is a courier and cargo business at 61 New Street, near Subra Towers, Karur 639001, Tamil Nadu, India, serving customers since 1989. We decide how and why your personal data is used for the purposes below, so we are the data fiduciary for it.
What we collect
- Quote and enquiry forms on this website: your name, phone number, and what you tell us about the shipment (from and to, pin code, weight, box size, contents, city and message).
- WhatsApp, phone and email: whatever you choose to send us, such as messages, photos and documents.
- When you send a shipment: sender and receiver names, addresses and phone numbers, the contents and value, and the identity or business documents that customs and carriers require (for example an ID proof, PAN, GST number or Import Export Code).
- Technical data: our web host records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser and pages requested) to keep the site running and secure. To stop spam, the quote form keeps a one-way scrambled version of your IP address for 15 minutes; we cannot turn it back into the address.
We do not ask for payment card or bank details on this website.
Why we use it
- to reply to your quote or enquiry, and to call or message you back;
- to book, pick up, pack, ship and track your shipment, and to clear it through customs;
- to keep records required by law, such as tax, invoicing and customs records;
- to prevent fraud, spam and misuse of our services and this website.
We use your data for these purposes because you asked us for a quote or a service (your consent and our contract with you), or because the law requires it. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see "Your rights"); this does not affect anything we did before.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Cookies, maps and fonts
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and it has no analytics. While your browser tab is open, it remembers the name and phone number you typed into a quote form, so you don't have to type them again; this is stored only in your browser and is cleared when you close the tab.
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, and the Contact page shows a Google map. Google receives your IP address when this happens and may set its own cookies on the map. WhatsApp links open WhatsApp, which follows Meta's privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and enquiries for as long as we need them to reply and follow up. We keep shipment records for as long as the law requires, for example under tax and customs rules. After that we delete the data or make it anonymous.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us to:
- give you a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct, complete or update it;
- erase it, unless the law requires us to keep it;
- stop using it, by withdrawing your consent;
- let someone you nominate act for you if you die or cannot act yourself.
Contact us using the details below. We will reply within a reasonable time, and we may need to check your identity first.
How we protect it
The website only works over a secure (HTTPS) connection. Quote emails are sent through an authenticated, encrypted mail server. The files that hold quote requests are stored outside the public part of the website, and access to our records is limited to our team. No method is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
Children
Our services are for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us for you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
